Iso 3166-2:is

ISO 3166-2:IS is the entry for codes for the names of the principal subdivisions (e.g., provinces or states) of all countries coded in ISO 3166-1.

Each code consists of two parts, separated by a hyphen. The first part is , the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code of Iceland and the second part is a digit (0–8).

The ISO 3166-2 codes correspond to the 8 regions of Iceland with the exception that the Capital Region is divided in two. The code covers the capital city Reykjavík and the code IS-1 covers the remainder of the Capital Region (Capital Region outside of Reykjavík).
