In Bihar there are fifteen state universities, three central universities and two deemed universities & one Private university. It is also proposed to convert RAU to a central university as per the official website of RAU Pusa.
After 2005, Bihar has experienced a lots of reforms. Many world class institutions have been developed in the state. Now Bihar attracts students from across India.Nalanda University will attract the students across the globe. In this way Bihar will regain it lost glory very soon.
As of Jun 2014, there are 4 central government, 7 government engineering colleges in public sector and 17 engineering colleges in the private sector in Bihar, including government aided BIT, Patna and Women's Institute of Technology, Darbhanga. The overall annual intake of these technical institutes offering engineering education to students in Bihar is merely 7,600.[21][22]
